In Jan/Feb of 2023 I played Picasso at The Playground Theatre and will be heading to The Edinburgh Festival from 03/08/23 -28/08/23 at 12.45pm except for the 14th and the 22nd at the Assembly Rooms, Roxy Theatre Upstairs. The play is now called Picasso: le Monstre Sacre. It is directed by Guy Masterson , who will be opening soon on Broadway with The Shark is Broken after his success in the West End with it last year. The journey from a full scale production in 2017 to a solo show started when Guy after seeing me play Shylock directed by Bill Alexander said that I looked a little like Picasso and I mentioned I had a play about him. He then asked if I would be interested in transforming it into a solo show and I said why not.
I already have another booking for Picasso next April in the Hamptons in the US and am working to get it into NYC after that.
I am also in discussions with Jolley Gosnold, who did a brilliant version of Enemy of The People , about The Rehearsal by Ingmar Bergmann and with Saulius Varnas from Lithuania about his adaptation of Moby Dick
In May 2022 I did my One Man at the Playground a piece inspired by the horrors unfolding in Ukraine. It was a piece I had written many years ago when I lived in New York and finally brought it to the light. It is about a tyrant i.e Putin, Stalin, Hitler etc and his need to consume and destroy eveything in his path. The Labour MP saw it and was so taken that she invited us to perform it in Parliament. In October of last year I made a film of it in Italy directed by Christian Holder.
The film should be finished shortly and then we will be submitting to various festivals. This follows my first film Odd Man Out, again based on my script, which won many awards at international film festivals, including for best actor, best film and best score
Also been invited to the United Solo festival in NYC in October with my piece Odd Man Out
Other projects include working with Lisa Forrell on Paris by Night for next year
